Thank God for His love that has kept us till now not withstanding all the natural and unnatural disasters that have happened in various parts of the world and in individual lives.  Some people will see no cause to be grateful to God because what they are expecting from God has not come. Some are going through uncomfortable situations that they cannot comprehend God to be so 'wicked' towards them to take them through such bitter path. But I tell you something, every experience is part of God's plan for our eternity in heaven with Him.  We shall use this song to celebrate the love of God.   August 31    THE GOD OF MERCY AND COMPASSION            The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23. This bible passage has been made into a solemn song that resonates with its full meaning in every believer.     We know of a truth, that God’s loving kindness and his mercies never cease, they are new every morning. In his loving kindness you begin to see God and to appreciate him. He will not withhold the light of the day against us because of our sins, the rains will fall upon us all in its season, as we watch the sunrise. The steadfast love of our Lord Jesus Christ culminates in his mercy that never ceases and does not have an ending to it, they are new every morning.   August 30    ALL KNOWING GOD           “God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything” 1 John 3:19-20  Who can stand before The All Knowing God and boast about anything? Do we know The God who knows everything and all things about us? Yes, He is our Creator, he designed us and put us in our mother’s womb. Can the pot ever ask the potter how he was created or why? The potter moulds the clay into any shape and size that he wants, he is not in any way answerable to the clay. Our Heavenly Father is the Potter and we are the objects of his creation, the clay in his hands. He alone knows the ones that are fragile, the ones that are strong, the ones that will survive under any circumstances. The psalmist says “O Lord, you have searched me and known me!     August 29     OUR ADORABLE FATHER            🎼 Oh come let us adore Him! Oh come let us adore Him!!!! Oh come let us adore……Him….Christ The Lord. For he alone is worthy of our praise and our adoration in all the earth. Adoration is a reverence and a deep heartfelt love for our God, coming out of our inner mind. It is a spontaneous feeling, not prompted by anything special. Sometimes we burst out in songs of praise and worship, the spirit of gratitude flowing from our hearts. We begin to adore, magnify and love the Lord and we begin to recount his multiple blessings in our lives. In total surrender to the reality of God’s awesome gift of love to us, we bow down in adoration to him.  Songs of praise swell up in our hearts, we get carried away, caught up in the spirit and our spirit are lifted up to the heavenly realm and there we acknowledge and adore the Lord like never before.  We express our gratitude wh...

    August 28           IN YOUR SILENCE          The Lord is in his holy temple, let all the earth be silent before him. Habakkuk 2:20 Today we sit in the silence of God’s presence. In the silence of this morning we see the crack of dawn, the light of the day, slowly breaking through, a gift that we behold with our eyes because we can see. Can we imagine what it would look like if each and everyone of us had to light up our candles!! How much match sticks would we need to light up our day? How much candles would we need to light up each day? What would happen if you run out of candles and match boxes? Can we begin to imagine the awesome darkness that would overcome the world, as we know it today!!  We have woken up to a beautiful day gifted us with no charge; free of charge!! August 27    THE LOVE THAT TENDS US            🎼 Father like He tends and spares us; well our feeble frame He knows. In his hand He gently bears us, rescues us from all our foes. Alleluia, Alleluia!!! Widely yet His mercy flows! How refreshing it is to wake up knowing in our hearts that our Lord, our Father tends and spares us. Our God, our Father is the GARDENER of our lives who tends, protects and spares us by pruning us for a fruitful growth. We, the believers are the garden that The Lord tends and waters, Isaiah 58:11 says that a righteous life is like a well-watered garden . As our Lord tends us, He spares us because he knows our feebleness, like a farmer will put a hedge around his crops so the Lord protects us from the evil ones.            August 26     CEASELESS PRAISE           🎼 Praise him for his grace and favour to his people in distress. Praise him, still the same as ever, slow to chide and swift to bless. Alleluia, Alleluia!! Glorious in his faithfulness!  As you continue to praise The Lord with this song of praise you acknowledge God’s grace and favor to us when we are distressed. The reality of God’s grace is revealed in the smile from a stranger, a helping hand at the time of your need. I remember many years ago, a friend of mine shared a story of how she was going to visit a friend who was not feeling too well and she took a bible as a gift to her. She had forgotten that her friend was a moslem who unknown to her was having a tough time in her marriage.     August 25             PRAISE THE KING OF HEAVEN            Praise, my soul, the King of heaven; to His feet your tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, evermore his praises sing. Alleluia, alleluia! Praise The everlasting King. Praising God is something that rekindles your spirit and brings joy unspeakable to your heart. You feel like dancing and shouting out to the whole world to share in the joy that has overwhelmed you. You want everyone to share in this wonderful euphoria with you, yet you cannot put your finger on anything but you are elated. Every time you are filled with the spirit of the Lord you to begin to praise the Lord or you begin to sing his praise.   August 24           REST TO THE WEARY              “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew  11:28    Jesus, give the weary calm and sweet repose; with your tend'rest blessing may my eyelids close. From the East to the West to the North and to the South there is no rest like the rest that our Lord Jesus Christ gives to the weary. When we are weary, all our bodies are weary and we cannot rest the hands and leave the legs, we must obtain complete rest from our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is in Him we live and move and have our being- Acts:17:28.  The Lord who made us in His own image is the only one who can mend us, body, soul and spirit. His blood was shed on Calvary for us to receive healing and when we call upon him He answers us.  In Psalm 23:1-2 David sees God as our shepherd who gives us rest in green pastures and by the quiet waters. ...

  August 23        THE DAWN OF THE DAY               1 Now the day is over, night is drawing nigh; shadows of the evening steal across the sky. This day will come to an end like every other day, as long as we are alive, our today lasts for only 24 hours and it becomes yesterday and then last year. The miracle of today is that the hours, the minutes and the seconds are the same daily all over the world. The dawn shows that the night times of our lives will not last forever and the morning brings new mercies, they are fresh and new every morning. The Creator of the universe, our Lord God Almighty in His wisdom divided the day into three different parts, morning, afternoon, evening and the nighttime.    August 22        MY WORSHIP         That my heart may sing your praises and not be silent- Psalm 30:12  In all our work with The Lord, there is always a reward and these are the times for us not to be silent. The psalmist is saying it loud, worshiping and praising God,  testifying to all about God’s faithfulness in his life. We also will not be silent and nothing will stop us from worshiping The Lord Jesus Christ, in season and out of season.  Our voices and every breath that we have should be used to honor God. From the moment that we wake up until we lay our heads we must sing of the goodness of Our Lord. Declaring the goodness of God in worship means affirming, speaking the truth and letting go and letting God. August 20.       BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD                 …….”Who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29   The bible passage in  reference is a statement made by John the Baptist about our Lord Jesus Christ. As the Lord approached John,  he pointed at Jesus and this was how he introduced him to the crowd. This is a powerful majestic introduction , that made some of the followers of John to leave him and follow our Lord Jesus Christ.   If you were in the crowd, would you have followed Jesus Christ? The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world? You have come face to face with He who will take  away all your sins, wipe them all out and you are declared cleansed of all sins.  God had revealed to John and given him the clue, the one upon whom the Holy Spirit fell upon was The Savior of the world.   August 19       BEHOLD I COME               Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19  Behold appears 1,500 times in the Bible. It is a command to us believers from God to wake up, ponder and pay serious attention to the authority beholding us. God is saying here that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, this is definitely something beyond anyone’s imagination. This calls for us all to gather and to behold this miracle, a miracle that will be talked about by many generations yet unborn. Each time The Lord says BEHOLD, there is always something supernatural  about to happen. It comes with God’s promise that He will do what He has spoken to us and it will surely come to pass. August 18.   BEHOLD I COME QUICKLY Revelation 22:12 We have now gotten to the time as believers when our ‘watch and pray’ watchword is yielding fruits. We hear the voice of our Lord Jesus Christ speaking, behold I come quickly! Do we recognize the voice? We must do if we know our Master and if we are intentional in our watch and prayer in practical Christian living. How well did we do in being alert spiritually, physically and mentally?  Some believers I know have never read the Book Of Revelations. A lady told me that she is afraid of reading the book in the New Testament of the Bible. We cannot draw a line or choose what to read and what not to read, what we read from Genesis is revealed in the book of Revelation, the Old Testament revealed in the New Testament as we prepare for the Return of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He is coming for us to give an account of our stewardship of all that He kept in our care. August 17            A HELP TO WATCH AND PRAY              Take heed, watch and pray; for ye know not when the time is- Mark 13:33 As we begin this day, we are faced with the help we need to be able to watch and pray, so we must be prepared and ready. Our preparedness requires strength, alertness, we need to know The Word that would deter the enemy. When our Lord Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil He made him flee because He knew The Word. When we watch and pray we are sapped of energy which means that we must be very conscious of what we need and be specific in our asking.  This service is a practical obedience to God’s commandment. Every command from God is for our own benefit and for Him to achieve his purpose in our lives.  As believers, we know the time we are all waiting for, the time of the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ. August 16       A CHARGE AN ACCOUNT TO GIVE               So then every one of us shall give an account of himself to God.   Romans 14:12 The Lord’s grace and mercy endureth forever for all who are called up to serve in His kingdom. The last line of the 3rd verse of Charles Wesley’s hymn says,”And now Thy servant, Lord, prepare a strict account to give.” Every worker is obliged to keep account of his service to his master, our master, our Lord Jesus Christ. Most of us believers have no understanding of what it means to give a strict account. This account to our Master to give includes:  An account of what you do for The Lord in your wake-up  hours. August 15      I STAND AT MY             I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me. Habakkuk 2:1-2a For prophet Habakkuk his watchtower was a place of sober reflection, quiet time, waiting in the silence for God’s response and messages to him. What is the responsibility of a watchman on the watch tower? Watchtowers are tall buildings built to guard cities, to monitor the movement of the people and to watch out for  enemies. Believers are called out to be watchmen on the watchtowers wherever they find themselves. They must be AWAKE and warn others about any danger they foresee.  Our calling and our service unto The Lord Jesus Christ is not dependent on any qualification that we have.  In years gone by, many nations had watchtowers outside of the walled city gates. ...

August 14.    A CHARGE FOR A WATCHFUL CARE            Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41 We are still learning from the hymn by Charles Wesley, “a charge to keep I have”. The first line of the third verse says, “ ARM ME WITH WATCHFUL CARE.” We believers at this point have the understanding that we have a charge to keep and we must guard it religiously.  A watchful charge from God or a leader in the church is a spiritual duty of staying ALERT. This call is an indication that we are spiritually mature to take up the responsibility given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. We are to judiciously guard and care for our spiritual lives, we are not to be spiritually lazy. August 13.       A CHARGE TO DO MY MASTER’S WILL             We all want to be in positions of authority with the power that comes with them. Starting from our homes to our places of work, to the church and to our communities. A husband will insist that he is completely in charge and everyone must obey him and do his will as the master of the house. The degree of the power we have is dependent on who has entrusted us with the power and the authority.  For example, if a policeman comes to control the traffic everyone will obey him simply because of his uniform and he is controlling the traffic according to his master’s instructions. I doubt if anyone will obey him if he comes out in mufti, it becomes clear that the motorists are only obeying the power behind his uniform, his master. As we are empowered by our Lord Jesus Christ a transformation takes place in our lives. We begin to enjoy full fellowship...

August 12.      A CHARGE FOR EMPOWERMENT            Many of us have believed and served The Lord for many years, yet we feel powerless and we wonder why there is no change. Power belongs completely to God who is the creator of heaven and the earth and we come to the understanding that we have no power of our own.  Today we are looking at power as the strength and ability to act and to create. God our father through the Holy Spirit gives us believers the strength to help us achieve the purpose He has set for us. Acts 1:8. Power belongs to God, in heaven and on earth, there is no other power that we need. As believers we know that whom God has called he equips. Our weakness allows God’s power to be poured into us and we have the understanding that the strength comes from Him. 2Corinthians 12:9. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave his disciples the power to heal the sick and to do all that He did and they were vessels...

August 11.  A CHARGE TO SERVE           It will cost you something to serve God. Exodus 25:11 A call to serve God is a sacred call to believers to honor God by loving others and to fulfill his purposes.  The second verse of the hymn reads “ TO SERVE THE PRESENT AGE, MY CALLING TO FULFILL ”. This hymn says that to serve the present day is the fulfillment of our calling, to meet the spiritual needs of those around us. God’s calling  is usually not for Bible scholars or those who know the word. Service to others means using our time, our talents, our wisdom, our finances and serving wholeheartedly and to point them to our Lord Jesus Christ and to eternal life.  Romans 12:11 says that we should not be lazy in our work but serve the Lord with all our heart.   August 10      MY CHARGE TO OBEY            Today we start our day with the lyrics of the hymn written by Charles Wesley , “a never dying soul to save, to point it to the sky.”      A charge that is not carried out is in disobedience to the responsibility God has given us. The story of Prophet Jonah is the typical story of a man who was chosen but was in total disobedience to the simple instructions God had given him for the salvation of the city of Nineveh. Our faithful God loves us and He is still in the business of saving nations from sin and perdition. Jonah was proud, stubborn, disobedient, unfaithful, self righteous and a grumbler yet God chose him. In Jonah 1:16  we see that the pagan sailors moved from panic to worshiping the true God and they made vows. August 9       MY CHARGE          Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 1 Cor 11:2 Song 🎶      A charge to keep I have  My God to glorify.     A never ending soul to save.     To point it to the sky.           This is one of the hymns written by Charles Wesley 1707-1788, a Methodist.       As we enjoy this hymn we should begin to deeply understand the message that it carries. We should analyze the message, ponder over it and apply the words to our hearts.     What is an ordinance and what is a charge? August 8.        IN THE BEGINNING In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1     When God created the heaven and the earth out of nothing, He had a Master Plan. His plan was customized for the man he was yet to create. He spent six days creating everything that the man needed before he poured out himself into him. God poured out His holiness, his intellect, his personality and all that He is into the man He created. Adam and Eve in their purest state had unlimited access to God, 24/7. God was a regular visitor to the garden of Eden, He loved the people he had created. He provided all that they needed to be comfortable in the garden of Eden. Like our earthly fathers they had rules and regulations that were to be obeyed. Alas in disobedience they succumbed to the tempter and everything changed.        Our relationship with God today is not different from what happened in the garden of Eden. We...

August 7.         HABITUAL THANKSGIVING         What a beautiful day and we are thankful to God that our eyes have seen this day.      Today we are looking at Habitual Thanksgiving. What does habitual thanksgiving to God mean? It is an intentional daily choice to focus on God’s goodness and express gratitude in every situation, not waiting for good times to feel thankful.      As we read our bible and follow the miracles that our Lord Jesus performed during his lifetime, we observe one thing that he did regularly, He prayed and thanked His Father in heaven. He was divine but he knew that the power he needed for his work on earth was given to him by his Father and he did not take it for granted, he habitually gave thanks to his Father in heaven.       Do we remember what happened in the Gospel of John 11 vs 41 “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me”. ...

August 6.  Thanking God For Others I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you now that you belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Cor 1:4            We thank our Lord Jesus Christ that we have people who thank Him on our behalf for his blessings in our lives. There are times when we do not  see the goodness of God, we are too busy and too much into our lives that  cannot stop to see God’s expression of His love in our lives. More often we hear family and friends saying, “I thank God for your life for what God has done for us.” This is exactly what Paul did in his letter to the the Corinthians, we are the Corinthians of today.       Paul must have observed the change in their lives at the time they accepted our Lord Jesus Christ. The word of God that he sowed in their lives had yielded fruit that he could see so he thanked The Lord on their behalf.    ...

August 5.        A HEARTFELT THANKSGIVING               I will praise you with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing unto thee. Psalm 138: 1      The psalmist says that he will praise God with his whole heart, body, soul and spirit. All the organs in his body will praise God. What a joyful sight to behold in a heartfelt praise and thanksgiving to our Creator, He who has given us breath in our nostrils.       As I read this Psalm my mind’s eyes went to our parties, how the musicians would sing the praise of a VIP at events. Most often, his praise is not heartfelt because his eyes are fixed on the hands 🙌🏾 of the VIP looking at the money he is giving him.
