I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT
August 21 I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT
……….. I have finished my race, I have kept the faith. 2Tim: 4:7
As we look through our devotional so far, we have taken up:
a—Our Charge.
b—Watched and Prayed.
c—We heard our Lord’s voice-*BEHOLD*
Can we beat our chest and declare that we have taken up our Charge and faithfully carried it out? Have we as believers watched and prayed and still watching and praying, as there is no end to it as long as there is breath in our body. What armour do we carry, trusting God, having an unwavering faith in God and the courage to persevere! Our warfare is spiritual and it is against sin and the evil we encounter from the devil. We must wear the armor of God to stand and fight the good fight. “If I perish I perish” was the audacity of Queen Esther and this saved the lives of the Jews after the plan had been made for their extinction. She had set herself apart to seek the face of The Lord by calling for a fast for her household. As believers we know that we must fast and pray for the days are evil. “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. 2Tim 1:7. We know our adversaries and we can stand before them empowered by the word of God.
Do we know our Lord’s voice as He knocks so that we can let Him in? Your voice oh Lord will I hear in the morning and this will be my guide.
We have been preparing, arming and equipping ourselves in readiness to give an account of our stewardship as we stand before our Maker at the parley gate, the gateway to Heaven.
The fight has been a spiritual warfare and we overcame as we were armed with the armour of God, Ephesians 6:11-18. The spiritual warfare is against sin and the evil we encounter in our lives as believers. We have run the race through thick and thin to cross the finish line, trusting and believing in our Creator who is The God of our battle. Exodus 14:14
We have truly served our Lord Jesus Christ, we will never give up and we must stay faithful to our God and our Father, running the race and winning the battle. “Do not be worried and upset, Jesus told them, believe in God and believe also in me.”John 14:1 The battle is mine says The Lord.
Let Us Pray: We thank You Lord that we have run the race to serve you and you alone. We stand before You with gratitude that we finished the race because you were guiding us and leading us through our lives journey.
