These are some of the questions we ask when someone is speaking and we are not intentionally listening. More often than not, we find ourselves asking these questions, even while seated in the church. These are the powerful words that God spoke at the beginning of creation in Genesis 1:3. These are the words that opened up the heavens and the earth and gave us all that we need to live a fulfilled life as divinely designed by our God. The world was without form, empty, and filled with darkness, yet God, in His wisdom, turned darkness into light as His Spirit overcame it all. His powerful presence penetrated the emptiness, and God created all that we know as the world. Awesome God. September 30.    WHEN RESOURCES ARE RESTRICTED WHEN RESOURCES ARE RESTRICTED “ Some time later, however, the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: ‘Get up and go to Zarephath of Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.’” 1 Kings 17:7-9 BSB  This time, I remember years back when Star Wars fictional films were so interesting, yet we thought they could never become reality. Today, we are seeing robots doing things that humans could do and even more. Robots are now being manufactured in quantities where they will cohabit with humans. In the Bible prophecy about the end time, robots were predicted, and you can read Revelation 13 about what that time will be like when food will be restricted, and anyone without the mark of the beast cannot buy or sell or take part in society at all. September 29.      CULTIVATE THE WINNING MINDSET  “ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think on these things. ” Philippians 4:6-8 BSB  Spiritual warfare is not in any way physical. It happens inside you where you will deny Jesus and call God a liar or even denounce Him. Because Ephesians 6:11-18 describes the armour of God in physical terms, it is difficult to make it spiritual in our imagination. September 27.    SOURCE OF JOY “I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.”  John 15:11 BSB A young man was sick and close to death. He was cool and calm as his relations and friends came to visit him. One of the mother's friends asked if they could consult a herbalist for him to take portions that could cure him. He calmly said ‘I’ll rather face death than lose my salvation. I have the joy of salvation’. The woman was shocked. He passed on with a smile on his face and relaxed.  Where is the home of joy? Jesus gave the understanding of joy in our Scripture for meditation today. He said He had spoken to them words that would put His joy in them that their joy  may be complete. The source of the joy of God is His word.  Joy is a deep, supernatural sense of peace and satisfaction given by the Holy Spirit that does not depend on outward life events. September 26.    DAYS OF FRIENDSHIP  ““How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me, when His lamp shone above my head, and by His light I walked through the darkness, when I was in my prime, when the friendship of God rested on my tent, when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me, when my steps were bathed in cream and the rock poured out for me streams of oil!” Job 29:2-6 BSB By each person's standard, he has experienced the days of friendship with God at some point. Things go well with you as you want them to. Job did know that happiness when everything was going well for him. He had joy but did not recognize it. JOY and HAPPINESS are not the same. JOY is given by the presence of God within while HAPPINESS is the result of what the outward condition is. Happiness disappears when we lose all outward worldly possessions while joy stays even when everything outward is lost. Joy gives you the streng...

September 25.        THE BASIC SPIRITUAL WARFARE “ “Where have you come from?” said the Lord to Satan. “From roaming through the earth,” he replied, “and walking back and forth in it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give up all he owns in exchange for his life. But stretch out Your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse You to Your face.”” Job 2:2-5 BSB The bottom line of spiritual warfare is in the book of Job chapters 1 and 2. September 24.    GOD CONSCIOUSNESS REMOVES FEAR “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”.    Isaiah 41:10 BSB   Whenever you feel alone, fear is birthed. Not just alone physically but alone within you. When a person has no money and no consciousness of where he can get money in case of need, he becomes very afraid. When a child does not sense the presence of his parents, he becomes afraid especially in the dark. Consciousness of a source of protection births fear in the heart of man.  No wonder what God assures His Old Testament servants of is His Presence with them wherever they went. Moses specifically asked for God’s presence with the children of Israel otherwise he would not lead them to move. Exodus 33;14-17. September 23.     WHAT YOU EMBED IN YOUR MIND INSTRUCTS YOU “ Therefore speak to them and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him according to his great idolatry, ”  Ezekiel 14:4 BSB  Whatever you embed  in your mind will be your life instructor. Whatever is embedded in your mind apart from God is an idol. One of the most common idols in recent times are the pastors or ministers of God whose words  we place above the word of God. Material possessions too is an idol when it sits where God should be in the hearts of people. A husband or wife could become an idol. Power, education, even self could be an idol. September 22.     LEARN TO LOOK UP “ There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among the nations, bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the surging of the waves. Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”” Luke 21:25-28 BSB  Jesus warned that man knows how to read the signs on the sky to know what the weather will be like but we refuse to read the signs of the times. Matthew 16:2-3. When we read the signs of the sky, we prepare for what the day has in stock weather rain or sunshine. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.  You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. September 20.      KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS   “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV God has thoughts and because we are made in His image, we have thoughts too. Every good desire that we have comes from God. Man was made with good thoughts until his fall in the garden of Eden and since then, his thoughts always tend to evil.   “ And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ”  Genesis 6:5 KJV. For man to align with God, he has to train his thoughts to be like God’s thoughts. The problem is that we are hardly mindful of our thoughts so it runs wild and tends towards wickedness. September 19.       ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE 3 “ As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not depart from you, and My words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth or from the mouths of your children and grandchildren, from now on and forevermore,” says the Lord. Isaiah 59:21 BSB We all grew up with the language of where we were born and the particular vocabulary of our core home. Many times, the vocabulary we speak keeps manifesting in our lives and we cannot trace the things happening in our lives back to the language we spoke and probably still speaking the same vocabulary.  Now as Christians, what language should we speak? I found our text above difficult to practice when I first came across it some years back. I was too used to my speech that I would have spoken outside the word of God for days before I gathered myself again. Then I located the way to get the word of God into my mouth....

September 18.     ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE 2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his whole body. James 3:2 BSB The tongue is a very tiny muscle in the body but is the controller of the direction of our life. We speak with the aid of the tongue and whatever we speak is heard by all around us including the one speaking. The word that you hear is what feeds your faith and your faith feeds what you become. Try giving an instruction to a person near you and watch him react in response to what you say. Now if your tongue directs the course of your life, the first basic spiritual training is to train your mouth. September 17.     ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE  1 … For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.  1 Timothy 4:8 BSB There are two types of exercises recommended in today's scripture. Physical for the body and spiritual (godliness) for the spirit. We all know the benefits of physical exercises and feel them when we do them. Special exercises for different parts of the body have even been studied and recommended yet we have studied little about spiritual exercises. Just as we have physical muscles, we have spiritual muscles. Our spiritual muscle is called FAITH. It is with faith that we do things in the spirit. Our faith must be exercised.  Just as we are born with basic muscles for survival which we grow and exercise, we are born with a measure of faith which we must grow and exercise as well. September 15.   KEEP WATCH Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return — whether in the evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or in the morning. Otherwise, he may arrive without notice and find you sleeping. In the Old Testament, Daniel said at the end of times, there will be great distress for all men but he added something else that is defining this era which is the increase of knowledge. When she called me, I was moved to pray Psalm 24:7 that all ‘gates’ that block the passage should lift their heads up. Within minutes of saying the prayer, her bowel opened and she was relieved. September 4    LOVE TATTOO  Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.  Isaiah 49:16 BSB The first time I saw this scripture many years back, I felt so happy that God spoke a love language to me at a time I was being rejected. One of the scriptures that endeared God to me was this.  Have you met a man or woman who tattooed the lover's name on his arm? How do you feel? This meets with mixed feelings. To be honest, everyone loves and would want it to be done for them deep down but not everyone will confess to it but reject it out of jealousy or envy or whatever.  It is sweet to have a beloved acknowledged openly by the lover.  🤔 Watch where God tatoos your name and the whole of your life. On his palm. Observe today how frequently you see your palm. God sees you every time He sees His palm. When tattoos are inscribed, they do not washed away. September 3.  The Israel Of God For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation. September 2.  Love Without Limit “Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the son of her womb? Even if she could forget, I will not forget you!  Isaiah 49:15 BSB The love of God for His children is deep unconditional love that has no limit. Each time I come to Isaiah 49:15, my heart melts because I know the love of a woman for her child even when the child has gone to be with the Lord. No mother forgets any of her children. The women that give their children up for adoption or abandon them somewhere is with the hope that someone who could take care of them would find them.
