Behold I Come
August 19 BEHOLD I COME
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
Behold appears 1,500 times in the Bible. It is a command to us believers from God to wake up, ponder and pay serious attention to the authority beholding us. God is saying here that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, this is definitely something beyond anyone’s imagination. This calls for us all to gather and to behold this miracle, a miracle that will be talked about by many generations yet unborn. Each time The Lord says BEHOLD, there is always something supernatural about to happen. It comes with God’s promise that He will do what He has spoken to us and it will surely come to pass. Gen 28:15
What authority can behold us in our tracks? It is a divine command to us to stop and see God’s work unfolding in our presence. Jacob encountered God at Bethel and that was the beginning of a new Jacob as he was running away from his brother Esau. It is usually urgent, an alarm that will make us stop and pause and take a closer look.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me-Rev 3:20. Our Lord Jesus Christ is drawing our attention to a need that He wants to meet. He wants to have a very close relationship with us, sharing our meals with us. We are expected to be at alert to hear our Lord Jesus knocking, we must respond by opening the door without any hesitation. Do you recognize the voice of our Lord Jesus Christ as you behold Him knocking at your door? His knocking is gentle and persistent as He waits patiently for you to hear and respond. He is knocking at the door of your heart, do not be double minded. James 1:8 says “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways “. A believer who is double minded cannot be trusted and cannot be relied upon or trusted with any kind of power or authority. Let us continue to listen and obey as The Lord is waiting and willing to have a personal relationship with us.
Let Us Pray:
Our Lord we thank You that You have cleansed us and made us fit to dine with You. We thank You Lord for stretching out your hands and making the impossible possible in our presence. We are grateful as we behold You face to face.
