A HEARTFELT THANKSGIVING
August 5. A HEARTFELT THANKSGIVING
I will praise you with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing unto thee. Psalm 138: 1
The psalmist says that he will praise God with his whole heart, body, soul and spirit. All the organs in his body will praise God. What a joyful sight to behold in a heartfelt praise and thanksgiving to our Creator, He who has given us breath in our nostrils.
As I read this Psalm my mind’s eyes went to our parties, how the musicians would sing the praise of a VIP at events. Most often, his praise is not heartfelt because his eyes are fixed on the hands 🙌🏾 of the VIP looking at the money he is giving him. The amount of money that he is willing to part with will determine the crescendo of his praise, sooner another guest is picked up for praises. The determining factor is the amount of money you are willing to pay!
A heartfelt praise however comes with undivided loyalty, wholehearted praise before a cloud of witnesses, in heaven and in earth. Our Awesome God does not go back on his words and his promises to us his children, his words are yea and amen. His Words that He has spoken will never return empty, they must accomplish his purpose.
If we are not capable of giving our God a wholehearted gratitude 🙏🏾 He has his plans for what he can do, our heartfelt gratitude should be unconditional and unstoppable. But He answered and said to them “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out” -Luke 19:40.
Our Lord sees our hearts and knows our thoughts, let us therefore, guard our hearts diligently against any evil thoughts.
We cannot but have a heartfelt thanksgiving, we cannot come to our Lord Jesus Christ with any half measures. Any thanksgiving given grudgingly is an absolute waste of time and we are deceiving ourselves and there is no truth in us.
Let Us Pray: We know that God sees our hearts, may we be intentional and praise our Lord wholeheartedly.
