IN THE BEGINNING
August 8. IN THE BEGINNING
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
When God created the heaven and the earth out of nothing, He had a Master Plan. His plan was customized for the man he was yet to create. He spent six days creating everything that the man needed before he poured out himself into him. God poured out His holiness, his intellect, his personality and all that He is into the man He created. Adam and Eve in their purest state had unlimited access to God, 24/7. God was a regular visitor to the garden of Eden, He loved the people he had created. He provided all that they needed to be comfortable in the garden of Eden. Like our earthly fathers they had rules and regulations that were to be obeyed. Alas in disobedience they succumbed to the tempter and everything changed.
Our relationship with God today is not different from what happened in the garden of Eden. We live in utter disobedience to all the Ten Commandments, all God’s laws because we ‘know more’ than The one who created us.
Today, look at the Ten Commandments and I wonder if we can keep them all. We are grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ who restored our relationship with God and gave us access to Him as it was in the beginning.
Have we accepted the sacrifices of our Lord Jesus Christ or are we still stagnated with Adam and Eve in the garden of disobedience? Can we search our souls and find out exactly where we are? Are we in the beginning of our journey of obedience to God’s commandments?
Where do we begin to tell the story of how great our God's love can be?
Most of us may readily remember this as a line in the movie LOVE STORY. This was the movie made in 1970, It asks a vital question, how long does it last, can love be measured by the hour of the day?
Can we measure the love that our creator has for us? Where do we begin to measure, or to understand the depth of God’s love for us? It is completely immeasurable by time, by the depth, by the weight, by the size, nothing is comparable with God’s love, absolutely nothing.
Our destiny is determined by decisions we make at the very beginning of our lives. The beginning of a journey sets the tone for what we set to accomplish at the end of the journey.
Let us go back to our beginning and make amendments as we embrace the new life that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us by opening the doorway to our Father in heaven.
Let Us Pray:
Our Father, we are grateful for all that you poured into us in the beginning. Lord let us remember your works and your blessings from the very beginning. Your love is overwhelming and may we never forget your blessings in Jesus’s name we pray. Amen
