THE DAWN OF THE DAY

August 23        THE DAWN OF THE DAY

1 Now the day is over,
night is drawing nigh;
shadows of the evening
steal across the sky.

This day will come to an end like every other day, as long as we are alive, our today lasts for only 24 hours and it becomes yesterday and then last year. The miracle of today is that the hours, the minutes and the seconds are the same daily all over the world. The dawn shows that the night times of our lives will not last forever and the morning brings new mercies, they are fresh and new every morning. The Creator of the universe, our Lord God Almighty in His wisdom divided the day into three different parts, morning, afternoon, evening and the nighttime. A time to work and a time to rest from our work. As we come to the evening time of our day do we reflect on what we have done with the hours that was given us, from dawn to dusk to do as we desire? As we come to the evening time of our lives are we satisfied with all that we accomplished in the dawn? Are we struggling with unfinished tasks? Are we joyful or stressed out because we did not achieve anything? What part of the day time did we ascribe to our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed our day and given us our daily bread? He has forgiven us our trespasses, Luke 11: 2-4. He has laid a table before us in the presence of our enemies- psalm 23:5.

The night is drawing near and the shadows of the evening is passing us by. As we lift our eyes up to observe the sunset we are amazed at the splendor of our Lord’s timing. He is telling us to wind up the day’s activities for the night is creeping in and the time of rest is coming upon us. He has measured out the food and the water we require for the day. Are our eyes open to see what He has prepared for us? What an awesome God who is nothing but love, He tells us that the time to rest from our daily toil has come. Our Father, our Creator has designed our bodies to succumb to the rest which our bodies need.

Do we understand the timing of our God, He has worked out the timing of the day. Ecclesiastic 3:1 tells us that there is time for everything under the sun.

There is a dawn for everything, a spiritual awakening to The light that our Lord Jesus is bringing to the world. There is a new hope and spiritual light chasing away the darkness as we arise in prayers and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. May we arise pure and refreshed and ready in the holy eyes of The Lord to serve Him. The dawn of the day is here, our wake up call is to commit all our plans to the Lord, acknowledging that our lives are in His hands.

Today remember that at the crack of dawn there is a new hope filled with The Lord’s presence.

Let Us Pray: Our Lord and our Master, what a mighty God You are. All you created are living according to your plans,  for us to flourish in spirit and in truth and to live in harmony with You and with each other. May our dawn be filled with your joy, your peace, and be filled with your awesome presence. Thank You Lord for the light of our days. Amen
