September 15.  KEEP WATCH


Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return — whether in the evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or in the morning. Otherwise, he may arrive without notice and find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to everyone: Keep watch!” Mark 13:35-37 BSB


 Although Jesus did not give the exact time that He will return and the end of the world would come, He did give the events that will usher in His second coming. Read Matthew 24:6-13. In the Old Testament, Daniel said at the end of times, there will be great distress for all men but he added something else that is defining this era which is the increase of knowledge. But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase.” Daniel 12:4 BSB Can you see how much knowledge has increased rapidly with AI? Also, read Revelation 13. Watch the AI robots and listen to what their makers are aiming at and the fears even they are expressing. The robots are more intelligent than people now but they are figuring out the super intelligent AI which will be more intelligent than all humans put together. The interesting thing developing now is that the robots are being trained or programmed to be able to automatically make their type. You see that the end is knocking at our door and we need to learn to watch for the coming of Christ. 


What can we do? First is to make sure your name is written in the Book of Life. This you do by accepting you are a sinner and need a saviour. Accept Jesus as your saviour then turn from your sins and follow Jesus. The next is to turn others to righteousness.  What will make you overcome is the blood of Jesus, the word of your testimony and not loving your life even unto death. Revelation 12:11. 


The good news in all these is that those who believe shall not be left alone. Michael the great prince who stands watch over the people of God will be there.  Daniel 12:1. We shall not be helpless to stand in spite of distress. 

Let Us Pray:

Dear Father, thank you for your words that have told us about things happening now even long before now. Teach me to watch, give me understanding and wisdom to hold on to eternal life with Jesus Christ, in Jesus name I pray.

  MAY 3.      Romans:5: 4-5   Hope is not wishful thinking; hope is like making a long wish-list and waiting in great anticipation for each of the things you wished for to come through. You will find yourself marking off all the ones that God has answered.   On who are you hinging your hope on? My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and righteousness; this is the line of a very popular hymn that we all know. Is it true for you, can you let go and know that He who you hope on will not disappoint you.
