What Is Man That You Are Mindful Of Him
October 20. What Is Man That You Are Mindful Of Him
This is a verse from king David’s psalm, Psalm 8:4 in the Bible. King David is in awe of all that God created by himself, human beings, the moon and the stars, the universe and much more, he observes that the human beings are small in comparison to all that He created, yet God remembers, cares and thinks about all of his creation and loves the human beings He created.
At creation, God spoke all creation into existence except man, He spent 6 days speaking the elements, the food crops and the cash crops, all the animals on land, in the sea and in the air into being. He designed and built the garden of Eden, equipped it with all that man needed to live a very comfortable life. He created Adam from dust to give him a form and He put his breath into him and he became a man. God made him in his own likeness and image and put him in the beautiful garden He had created for him. God gave man dominion over all the things that He created. God saw that Adam needed a helpmate and He created Eve from the ribs of Adam.
In the account of God’s creation, He gave special attention to the man He created. God did not speak man into being He created him and poured out Himself into him so that He could have a special intimate relationship with him.
To be mindful of man is to care for the man He created. God is so mindful of man that He gave man dominion over all the things he had created. God is mindful of man that He visited Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, what an awesome loving God.
In the bible, a fool is described as someone who is relying on his own ability and hardens his heart against God’s teachings and God’s ways. The book of Proverbs 1:7 teaches us that true wisdom is not measured in our abilities but in the relationship we have with the Lord. As believers the fear of the Lord is a holy reverence for his power and holiness. We are encouraged to fear the Lord and be aligned with his power, authority and believe that His Word is the final authority regardless of how we feel. In all his dealings with man our Lord has treated us with utmost respect and mercy, that He gave his only begotten Son to die that we may be reconciled with Him and receive eternal life. Our God has laid the foundation of an intimate relationship with Him. Remember that The creator and the owner of the universe is very mindful of all the things that concern you.
Let Us Pray: We are grateful Lord for the foundation You laid that gave us the grace to know you as our Father. May we live our lives completely dependent on you, to walk in fear of you, following your instructions in humility. May we lay down all that we are and follow you more deeply.
