YOU ARE A CHILD OF PROMISE
MAY 1. Acts: 1: 4-5
The days are going so quickly, I remember that Christmas was celebrated not too long ago and here we are celebrating Good Friday and Easter, the most important days in the Church calendar.
The celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ in this season is purposeful and it is from everlasting to everlasting. Some questions come to my mind, what if our Lord Jesus gave up on his disciples who had betrayed and denied him? What if our Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead and decided to take a holiday from the stressful life he had been through? What if he did not leave us the Holy Spirit, our Comforter? The questions are endless and we sure do not have any answers to all of them and many more. We are the reason why our Lord Jesus Christ did not stop to take a rest and did not deny us, forgiving the thief on the cross.
Today we begin to see the enormity of the work our Lord Jesus Christ did for us, from the cross to the heavens. Who could have continued to intercede for us, sinners? We would have been like orphans, abandoned to the mercy of the roaring lion, the devil roaring to devour and to destroy. Without the disciples the story of death and resurrection would not have been broadcast to the world.
Surely, our God who is victorious and the same from everlasting to everlasting ensured a victory for the work of our Lord Jesus on the cross. We are reconciled and adopted into God’s marvellous kingdom as the sons of God. Glorious and victorious God you ensured our relationship with you was put right with Christ Jesus, we say amen for the amazing work on the Cross of Calvary. IT IS FINISHED was his gift to us the children of promise.
Let Us Pray: We are forever thankful for the price you paid for our salvation and your prayers for us the promised ones.
