We were like those who dream
October 22 We were like those who dream
“Psalm 126:2 “When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.”
What an amazing feeling for a wonderful restoration when it is least expected. We wake up from a dream into a reality, suddenly a wonderful overwhelming change has occurred. Our friends, our family and our community are in awe of what is happening, they can hardly believe it is real, seems as if you have woken up inside a happy dream.
You burst into a song of praise as Nathaniel Bassey sang, 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
See what The Lord has done.
See what The Lord has done.
What we waited for…
Has come to pass….
See what The Lord has done.
When we have lived in captivity and suddenly we are released from prison like Joseph, we are like those who dream. Joseph was imprisoned, he helped fellow prisoners interpret their dreams that came to pass, yet they forgot about him. On the day The Lord had appointed for his release, he was like those who dreamed.
All of a sudden, Pharaoh agreed for the Israelites to leave Egypt, taking with them clothing and jewels, it seemed like a dream. When they got to the Red Sea and thought they were going to drown, there fears and desperation turned into a dream and the reality of the Red Sea lifting up for them to escape the enemies who were in hot pursuit of them. There ability to cross the Red Sea on a dry land was as if they were dreaming. Can we look back and see our enemies drowning in their wickedness like the Egyptian army? Our Lord has done great things for us and we are glad.
Psalm 126:2-5; “Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy.” Have you experienced God in your time of need? Our Lord is the only one who can turn our sadness into joy. He alone will clamp the jaws of the lions in their den and we are able to walk out free unscathed.
Lazarus was dead and had been buried for four days and like those who dreamed, Mary and Martha heard our Lord Jesus declare that he was asleep and He called him forth from the grave and back to life. A dream had turned into a reality, their dead brother still bound in burial clothes came back to life.
May the dreams we have become our reality because our God is real and He will continue to do great and mighty things for us, in Jesus’s name. Amen 🙏🏾
Let Us Pray: We thank you our precious Father, for you are the reason why we can wake up from a dream to behold your reality in our lives. Our trust in you is real and may we be like those who dream.
