There Is Healing In Your Name

October 14.   There Is Healing In Your Name

“In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:6

What an amazing encounter for a lame man whose thoughts were far from walking again. He was about his business of asking for alms at the gate of the temple, known by many who dropped money at his feet with no thoughts of praying for his healing. “Silver and gold have I none but in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk,” was the response from Peter. Was the man disappointed, possibly, but on this very day he encountered the power in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Two things are glaring in this encounter with Peter, in the healing process, he had the responsibility to rise up. His faith, trust and belief in the words of Peter was at play in his ability to rise and walk. Secondly, his time of healing had come, an answer to the many prayers that may have been offered on his behalf. Eccl 3:1 tells us that there is time for everything under the sun, the power in the name of our Jesus Christ came forth and the shackles that bound him for years fell off. Is someone praying for you, find a praying partner, someone who you can trust . Peter went ahead to explain to the crowd that had gathered, “by faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.”—Act 3:16

Today is our day to dutifully rise up from our slumber, our challenges, our fears, our sick beds as we hear our Lord telling us to rise up and walk away from our infirmities. Our faith will make us whole as we drop our mats, we rise up from living a beggarly life, we walk free and safe into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Redeemer and our Righteousness.

Let us pray: Our Lord, our troubles make us loose sight of who you are in our lives. Where help seems remote and seemingly impossible, help us trust that you have not left us, at the right time our healing will manifest your love and your mercy. Thank you Lord that you are still delivering us despite our shortcomings. In Jesus’s name, Amen 🙏🏾
