NO WORD RETURNS EMPTY

Matthew 24:35

When fathers speak to their children, they expect the words that they speak to return to them with effective results. When God speaks to us his children He speaks knowing and trusting that in hearing him,  His words will yield fruits of obedience, and be impactful. At some point in time, God is watching, waiting and expecting his children to respond to what they have heard him say. We must be good listeners to hear what God is saying and to be able to react positively to it. In our world today, there are too many distractions seeking our attention, too much information that are not necessarily of any use to us. The IT industry is congested with plentiful DIY apps, they are hardly of any use, they are mere distractions. We need to keep our focus on God and be intentional as we seek to hear and understand what He is telling us. Our Father will speak in the language we understand. In Acts 2:1-3, the apostles spoke in diverse languages,  all the people heard them speak in their own language and they understood them and they were amazed. Our God is specific and very detailed, He will speak to you in the language that you speak and understand.  In Japanese, Mandarin, French etc, He only needs your heart to speak your needs to you.

Do we live in disobedience to what The Lord has said to us? Do we imagine that what The Lord is saying does not make any sense to us? Yes, Prophet Jonah felt the same way about God’s instructions to him about saving Nineveh from their sins. Jonah had passed judgement on them and refused to obey God’s instructions to him. Despite his actions to do it his own way, God still achieved his purpose through him. His words regarding Nineveh did not return empty, though there may be a delay, the purpose will be achieved.

A journey of 40 days took 40 years with the Israelites wondering in the desert, yet God achieved his purpose.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3

God has a specific time for his plans to come through, even when there is a delay, we believers are reminded that we must faithfully and patiently wait for it to come to pass, his words will never go back empty.

Let Us Pray: Our Lord and our Saviour Jesus Christ, your words are yea and amen to us who believe. Help our unbelief that we may live in obedience trusting all the words that we hear you speak. We will continue to tarry and watch your words yield the fruits in our lives. Amen.
