Me and My Bible
October 28 Me And My Bible
God has written us a letter and is waiting for an answer. Have you received your own letter? This letter is the greatest letter, the greatest gift that you can ever receive. The letter is a big one which you cannot finish reading in a day, not even in a week. The letter has your name, your street and your house number. You are chosen so your letter has been signed and delivered to you by your Maker.
Psalm 139:1-4 “Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thoughts afar off. Thou compasseth my path and my lying down. Thou hast beset me behind and before.”
This is part of the letter we have in our hands, God is telling us that He is very much aware of our everyday physical actions (sitting and standing) plus our inner thoughts from afar. God knows us individually and knows our ways and every word we speak before it reaches our thoughts and our tongues.
The letters that are written to us tell us about
1) *BREAD*, John 6:50
“This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.” This verse teaches us that Jesus Christ is the spiritual bread sent to us by God to feed our souls spiritually. To eat and not die is the power of the spiritual food that we are fed with. Eat of the bread of life and you will hunger no more.
2)*THE LIGHT* Psalm 119:105; “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” This verse is teaching us that God’s word are reliable for our daily living, guiding us as we make decisions that affect our lives and the lives of our children and families. We learn to trust God by living according to his precepts as we journey through life. Without God’s light we will easily stumble, fall into temptations that will lead us to make decisions that are regrettable. God’s light in our pathways shine eternally and we cannot miss it.
3)*MILK* 1 Peter 2:2
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”
We as believers are like newborn babies who have the need and seek out for milk for our survival. As a newborn baby cannot develop physically and mentally without the milk, we believers cannot grow spiritually without consuming the spiritual milk. This is the true Word of God, coming directly from God himself in the letters we are holding in our hands and reading with full confidence and understanding. It is the true Word of God that is not adulterated or filled with false teachings. This is what we all need for our true transformation and our true identity as we become Christlike in our daily living.
Let Us Pray: We thank you Lord that we have all received our personalized letters from you, properly addressed to us. We are grateful for the privilege of being accepted and acknowledged by you. Thank you everlasting Father.
