Joyful Thanksgiving

August 4                  JOYFUL THANKSGIVING

I will enter his gate with thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter his courts with praise. Psalm 100:4

Joyfulness is a deep lasting goodness that comes from God’s blessings poured upon us. The song that comes to my mind is 🎼Emina re Oluwa…

Emina re Oluwa ……

We all know the lyrics of this song and it is a song that makes you jump up on your feet with joy in your heart.

As we sing this song we are presenting ourselves before our God with a heart full of joyful thanksgiving for what He has done, for what He is doing, for the ones  we know and the ones that are beyond our comprehension.

We do not travel to any particular place to thank The Lord, anywhere is perfect to thank our Lord. I remember a lady who shared her testimony of how she knelt down in thanksgiving to our God in a supermarket when she received the good news of what God had done for her. No camera could have measured her thankfulness but she didn’t care who saw her in that stead. Our God is Omnipresent so we can express our thankfulness anywhere.

Today we are entering God’s gate with joyful thanksgiving and with praise in our hearts. We are actually entering into God’s awesome presence because we know Him and we know where to find Him. We are making a joyful noise because our God has been very good to us, we start dancing like King David danced. The joyfulness in the heart of King David’s dance was contagious and seemingly a vigorous dance that his wife thought that he had forgotten that he was the king of the nation of Israel.

There is joy in my heart and it's flowing like a river. I will praise your name with thanksgiving and joy. The joy of the Lord comes with finding DEEP INNER PEACE And Safety in God rather than in transient things that make us fleetingly happy. Most of the things we celebrate have expiry dates and the joy is short lived and does not endure forever.

Let Us Pray: May we oh Lord be open to receive your blessings that our joy will overflow with awesome thanksgiving.
