July 11.   UNCHANGING HELPER


Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. Psalms 146:3-4 NKJV


A woman thought the church would help her in her hour of need because she had put so much in the church when things were going well and the pastor knew her very well. Then there was a downturn in her business and she couldn't sustain herself. She turned to the pastor and all she got from him was ‘sister, use your faith’. She was devastated and she looked for help around to no avail. She came to me for help and I could only point her to this scripture that anyone who puts his trust in man or arm of flesh has no help at all because vain is the help of man. The day he dies, even if he is able to help, he can no longer do. 

Fear comes when we have no one to help us from an impending danger. Whenever we have what we can consider a sure help out of any trouble, we have some peace and confidence. Everything we put our trust in apart from God does fail. A bad business decision can wipe wealth away in a jiffy. A disease can turn the strongest man to a vegetable in a moment. Death can strike at any time without warning. The only sure help is God who doesn't change no matter the tide. He never turns His back on those who trust Him. The Holy Spirit is the Helper that God sent to be with us always and see us through any situation. Who or what do you see as your source of help?

Let Us Pray: 

Dear Lord and Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit whom You sent to be with me always. Make me know Him, understand Him and put my trust in Him as my helper at all times and tides in the name of Jesus.

  MAY 2.     Deuteronomy 6:4 Our God is an Amazing, Awesome God, The Creator of Heaven and the Earth, There is no one like Him, none to compare with Him, yes He is a perfect God. He is greater than all that he created, unlimited in nature, infinite and he is the God in three persons.   As you are dressed up to go out of your home, you are attired in all that God created including you yourself. Your clothes are made from cotton, silk, your shoes are made from animal skin, your perfume comes from natural oils, your jewellery comes from metals that are found in layers of soil. HOPE IN THE WORLD

  MAY 3.      Romans:5: 4-5   Hope is not wishful thinking; hope is like making a long wish-list and waiting in great anticipation for each of the things you wished for to come through. You will find yourself marking off all the ones that God has answered.   On who are you hinging your hope on? My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and righteousness; this is the line of a very popular hymn that we all know. Is it true for you, can you let go and know that He who you hope on will not disappoint you. The faith that our hope has in God is the hope that does not disappoint, it transforms our suffering into endurance and our expectations into joy.
