WALKING THE SPIRITUAL PATH 1
MAY 15.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14 NIV.

Walking is something you do decisively and intentionally because you will need to plan your pathway. When you decide to go on a spiritual walk you are responding to a call to follow and you will need to know who your guide is, someone who knows the way you have chosen to follow. A spiritual walk is completely different from an ordinary walk, this walk is dependent on God and a deep communion with Him leading to a life of holiness. Deep communion is achieved by walking in the same direction together by trusting your guide.
However, there are guidelines to follow, firstly a daily obedience to your guide’s instructions. Jonah was chosen by God to go to a pagan country to preach but he went in the opposite direction and ended up in the belly of a fish. God’s compassion to save his people was not in Jonah’s plan, he was only interested in his own comfort not in the people God chose to deliver. Are you willing to obey and follow blindly in absolute obedience and trust in your guide? God was not just interested in saving the people of Nineveh he cared for Jonah, otherwise, he could have chosen someone else to complete the assignment. God cares about you more than what you are doing on your spiritual walk. Our victorious God saved the city of Nineveh and Jonah from the belly of the fish.
There is a need for a change in your lifestyle with a disciplined mind and a life of sacrifice, focusing deeply on a spiritual lifestyle.
Are you ready to walk the pathway, living in accordance with the set up rules and regulations? Will you walk in obedience on the steps set out for you to follow? Obedience is better than sacrifice, than spending 3 days in the belly of the fish.
Let Us Pray: Thank you, Lord, for your determination to save us all with the utmost sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
