GOD OF ALL BATTLES
MAY 22.
And
David said to Saul, let no man’s heart fail because of him. - 1 Sam 17:32-33;
37
There
are times in our lives when we encounter some situations and our courage fails
us. Some unexpected mishaps, expectations that are not met. The ability to
withstand such situations stem from our knowledge of our victorious God, the
God who never fails. David was a shepherd boy, a young man of great courage who
had singlehandedly killed a lion and a bear while shepherding his father’s
flock. He is now facing a 9 feet tall Goliath who had defied the Israelites for
40 days, he needed all the courage and audacity to face the giant. The king’s armour
was too heavy for him to wear, yet he was determined because he knew who his
Father was. Which giant do you have before you? They may come as health issues,
family problems, business challenges, financial issues, marital troubles, in
whatever form you must be courageous. Do not despair for your God is a
victorious God who goes ahead of you in all situations.
David knew his God; he set out against the philistine knowing that the victorious God was on his side. He set with no armour only in The Name Of The God Of Israel, with a stone and a sling in his hands he killed Goliath, he knew that victory was his, he went in the name of the almighty God, his God who does not lose any battle as stated in Exodus 14:14. In the name of Jesus Christ every knee will bow and every Goliath will bow and victory will be ours.
Let
us pray: My Lord Jesus Christ, my hope is in you, the hope that does not
disappoint. I will remain courageous in my times of weakness knowing that you
will never fail me.
