MAY 9.     So that we may no longer be infants tossed back and forth….Ephesians 4: 14-15.   The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knoweth them that trust in Him. - Nahum 1:7-8, 13,15.   When we think about the word anchor, we first think about a ship and the heavy metal dropped to hold it in place. A ship’s anchor stabilizes it during a storm, God’s anchor keeps us steady, confident and secure knowing how powerful our God is. We are stabilized and able to redirect our focus to our All-Powerful God.   Can we totally trust our God to be our anchor? Do we understand what it means for God to be our stronghold? God’s power causes our enemies to cringe and tremble before Him, and we are secure in Him as our anchor.   MAY 8.   For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7.   The ability to overcome fear is to have an unshakable faith, replacing fear with faith and the word of the Lord. Reading your Bible, praying, meditating and cultivating an intimate relationship with God. *FAITH* F- Forwarding A- All I- Issues T- To H- Heaven   Someone had said that faith is the envelope with which you send your prayers to God.   The phrase, ‘Fear Not’ appears over 365 times in the old and in the New Testament, for the 365 days in a year there is one FEAR NOT for each day. Isaiah 41:10 says “Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God,” this is the blessed assurance of God’s divine promise, presence and help making fear unnecessary. May 7.   My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it. Luke 8:19-21.   A woman in the crowd was overwhelmed by the teachings of Jesus Christ and she yelled out, blessed is the womb that bore you. Our Lord Jesus responded that blessed is he who hears the word of the Lord and obeys it. His response teaches us that hearing and obeying the word of the Lord brings us true blessings.   Mother Mary stands out as one who listens, ponders, meditates, keeps the word and reacts to it.   The true blessings of God are not necessarily packaged into material things alone, they come packaged in spiritual as well. They come with the blessings of the gift of prophecy, the gift of healing, the gift of the spirit of discernment and much more. Most of us have the true blessing displayed for us and for others as we share words of wisdom and words of encouragement.   May 6.  Mark 10:51-53 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. Rabbi, I want to see.” The blind man was healed and he received his sight immediately. Today our Lord Jesus Christ is asking us the same question. Every day we wake up we always have a list of things we need to do, expectations that may not be met and promises that may be fulfilled. Very recently I listened to a young man on social media and he said something that made a lot of sense to me. He said that every day he holds a board meeting with God as his chairman. Together they go through all the things he needs to do and he then listens to what God has to say about the issues he has raised. Amazing, a wonderful way to receive God’s blessings on your plans and your life goals. We must pay attention and not miss out on the blessings that are rightfully ours. May 5. Have you never heard or understood? Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God…. Isaiah 40: 28-31.   The days are going so quickly, I remember that Christmas was celebrated not too long ago and here we are celebrating Good Friday and Easter, the most important days in the Church calendar. The celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ in this season is from everlasting to everlasting. Some questions come to my mind, what if he gave up on his disciples who had betrayed and denied him? What if Jesus Christ rose from the dead and decided to take a holiday from the stressful life he had been through? What if he did not leave us the Holy Spirit, our Comforter? The questions are endless and we sure do not have any answers to all of them and many more. Today we begin to see the enormity of the work our Lord Jesus Christ did for us. Who could have continued to intercede for us, sinners? We would have been like orphans, abandoned to the mercy of the roaring lion, the devil...

MAY 4. The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea… Psalm 29:3-9. All of us have the voices of everyone in our ears and we answer to the calls as we identify them but most of us do not know the voice of The Lord when He speaks. Everyone needs to hear God’s voice at some stage in their lives journey. There is a difference between hearing and listening, listening is a choice to pay attention to what someone is speaking while hearing could be accidental and not intentional. Samuel in our bible verse listened intentionally and he asked The Lord to speak as he had heard him and was ready to listen to him and to obey him. Prophet Isaiah heard God speaking, looking for who he would send and he offered himself for the assignment.   When God speaks, His voice is powerful, majestic, it echoes through the seas, the mountains, the forests and the elements obey his voice.   MAY 3.      Romans:5: 4-5   Hope is not wishful thinking; hope is like making a long wish-list and waiting in great anticipation for each of the things you wished for to come through. You will find yourself marking off all the ones that God has answered.   On who are you hinging your hope on? My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and righteousness; this is the line of a very popular hymn that we all know. Is it true for you, can you let go and know that He who you hope on will not disappoint you. The faith that our hope has in God is the hope that does not disappoint, it transforms our suffering into endurance and our expectations into joy. This is the hope that all faithful believers enjoy, they have peace with God and they feel very secured.
