SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME

June 3.

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.” Deuteronomy 30:11, 14 NIV

“Someone should have told me much earlier and I would not have struggled with wanting to please God by doing His commandments by my power yet messed everything up.” We were made to memorize scriptures but not taught how to see scriptures so as to feel them and handle them.

The Word of life is not beyond human reach. God had to tell the children of Israel how to obey His word of life and the same thing applies to us now. The word of life is to be kept in their mouths and from there it enters their hearts where it will become their life.

When I saw this while reading the bible, I chose to practice it and over time, I found that my nature started changing in line with the word I kept in my mouth.  I did not have to struggle to do good so I won't have to tell lies. Whereas lying came naturally to me before, I found myself speaking the truth rather than lying. You may ask what word of life I kept in my mouth. It is: So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the truth, for we all belong to one another. Ephesians 4:25 TPT

An easier way that I also found is keeping the Ten Commandments in your mouth always. All living words are locked in them.

Let us pray: Father God, how we mess our lives up by not keeping your word in our mouths. Forgive us Lord and make us believe you enough to obey you.
