THE WALLS OF JERICHO FELL

 


May 27.

The Lord said to Joshua, “See I have given Jericho into your hands, with its king and the mighty warriors.” - Josh 6:2

Knowing who our Father is gives us the blessed assurance of peace as we delve into his words. Our God’s ways are not our ways, he says that 1 + 1 equals 1, and there is no argument about that.

The enemies of Israel, the king of the Amorites and the king of Canaan were already consumed with fear when they heard that the Lord had dried the Jordan river for the Israelites to cross over. When your enemies are consumed with fear, they have already lost the battle and victory is yours. The enemies had already given up hope, they were not worried about the foot soldiers nor their armour, they were worried about who their God is, a God who is victorious.

Do your enemies know that you have the assurance that your God is the God of all battles and He says that you should be at peace, the battle is his. - Exodus 14:14

By merely matching around the city of Jericho in obedience to God’s instructions, the walls of Jericho fell, the battle was won without any gunshot only praising the Lord. - Joshua 5: 12-14

What challenges are you facing, remember to sing and praise the Lord and all the walls standing before you will fall. Our Lord is bigger than the troubles we face.

Let us pray: Thank you Lord that you have granted us your peace as you continue to fight all our battles. Your presence will always go before us as the walls disappear ahead of us. Amen.

  MAY 2.     Deuteronomy 6:4 Our God is an Amazing, Awesome God, The Creator of Heaven and the Earth, There is no one like Him, none to compare with Him, yes He is a perfect God. He is greater than all that he created, unlimited in nature, infinite and he is the God in three persons.   As you are dressed up to go out of your home, you are attired in all that God created including you yourself. Your clothes are made from cotton, silk, your shoes are made from animal skin, your perfume comes from natural oils, your jewellery comes from metals that are found in layers of soil. HOPE IN THE WORLD

  MAY 3.      Romans:5: 4-5   Hope is not wishful thinking; hope is like making a long wish-list and waiting in great anticipation for each of the things you wished for to come through. You will find yourself marking off all the ones that God has answered.   On who are you hinging your hope on? My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and righteousness; this is the line of a very popular hymn that we all know. Is it true for you, can you let go and know that He who you hope on will not disappoint you. The faith that our hope has in God is the hope that does not disappoint, it transforms our suffering into endurance and our expectations into joy.
